Russia attacks with all weapons except Kalibr - Ukrainian Air Force
During the massive Russian attack on Ukraine on December 29, Russia used all types of weapons except Kalibr. Moreover, the target was not specific objects, but the entire territory of Ukraine, according to Yurii Ihnat, spokesperson for the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"The enemy launched a massive missile attack using various means of air attack. Everything but Kalibrs was used, but we saw Kinzhal, ballistic missiles, S-300s, and cruise missiles that are still on our radar, still in the western part of Ukraine. Then we see the use of Shaheds. They also flew from the southeast, using Kh-22 or Kh-32 missiles," he says.
According to Ihnat, about 18 Tu-95 strategic bombers were used.
"According to preliminary information, the missiles were Kh-101 and Kh-555. We see that the enemy has struck powerfully. There are some downed aircraft. Unfortunately, there are casualties," the spokesperson states.
What was the target?
According to Ihnat, the Russians targeted the whole of Ukraine.
"The target was Ukraine because we hadn't seen so much red on our monitors (red is enemy targets - ed.) for a long time. The map was covered with enemy air targets. In all regions, in all directions," he says, adding that the occupiers first conducted surveillance with drones and then launched missiles of various types.
