On the night of May 25, Russia attacked Ukraine using several types of weapons: drones, Kalibr missiles, and missiles launched from strategic aviation.

Where the air raid alert was declared

On the evening of May 24, the launch of kamikaze drones by Russian forces toward Ukraine was recorded. Enemy attack UAVs entered Ukrainian airspace from the northern and southern directions.

Just a few minutes later, the Ukrainian Air Force reported a threat of ballistic missile use from the northeast of Ukraine.

At present, there are also reports of launches from strategic aircraft. As of now, a nationwide air raid alert has been declared across all of Ukraine.

Consequences of the Russian attack

Amid the massive Russian assault, explosions were heard in various cities across Ukraine.

Specifically, in Dnipro, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv.

Kyiv

During the Russian attack, fragments of aerial targets fell amid an enemy drone strike. In particular, a residential building was damaged in the Holosiivskyi district of the capital, and the destruction of a private house was recorded in the Dniprovskyi district.

The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, reported partial destruction of a building and a fire at the site where debris fell on a house.

Later, around 2:00 a.m. Kyiv time, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that medics had treated four victims in a student dormitory in the Holosiivskyi district.

One more person sought medical help in the Desnianskyi district and another in the Shevchenkivskyi district.

As of 3:03 a.m., the number of injured in Kyiv had risen to 10.

Kharkiv

During the night of May 25, explosions were heard in Kharkiv, and a fire started as a result of the shelling.

Later, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that, according to preliminary data, there were hits in the Osnovianskyi, Novobavarskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts.

The mayor said a civilian enterprise was damaged, and there was also a hit on an office building.

As of 3:14 a.m., three people were reported injured, including a child. According to the mayor, several apartment buildings had damaged windows.

One child was injured by glass shards and is receiving medical care,” he added.

Mykolaiv

The Air Forces reported enemy strike drones moving toward Mykolaiv. It is also known that military forces detected hostile drones over the city.

Vitaliy Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, said that medical aid was called after explosions in the city.

“There are ambulance calls. Emergency services are working,” the administration head said.

Currently, two people are reported injured. According to Kim, they have been hospitalized.

Chernihiv

Around 2 a.m., the Ukrainian Air Forces informed residents about a high-speed target detected in the northern part of the Chernihiv region.

Just a few minutes after this announcement, the head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration reported that explosions were heard on the outskirts of the city.

Sumy region

On the night of May 25, Mayor Artem Semenikhin reported explosions in Konotop, Sumy region.

A few hours later, residents also reported hearing explosions elsewhere in the Sumy region.

Odesa

Late in the evening of May 24, explosions were heard in the city. Military forces recorded the movement of enemy strike drones heading toward Odesa.

Around 11:00 p.m. Kyiv time, Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov confirmed that explosions had been heard in Odesa.
