Russia attacks Ukraine with 181 drones: Here's how many were neutralized

Russia launched 181 Shahed-type attack drones, including jet-powered variants, Gerbera, Italmas, and Parodiya decoy drones, against Ukraine overnight, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
The latest Russian attack began at around 6:00 p.m. on August 2.
This time, the drones were launched from Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, and Shatalovo in Russia, as well as from occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea.
The following forces were involved in repelling the attack:
- aviation;
- anti-aircraft missile units;
- electronic warfare and unmanned systems units;
- mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces.
"According to preliminary data, as of 7:30 a.m., air defenses had shot down or suppressed 163 enemy Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of drones in northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine," the Air Force said.
The Air Force also confirmed that 14 attack drones hit 13 locations, with fallen debris recorded at two additional sites.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that Ukrainian forces struck Belgorod State Technological University, which had been involved in developing drone control systems.
It also became known that over the past several days, Ukraine's Defense Forces successfully struck four oil refineries and a maritime terminal in Russia.
In addition, Ukraine's General Staff recently confirmed a strike on an oil refinery in Volgograd.
