Russia attacks Kyiv: Casualties, fires, and debris reported across multiple districts

Five people were injured as a result of an enemy attack on the capital, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko on Telegram.

What weapons were used
At around 06:30 a.m. Kyiv time, it became known that another group of missiles and several dozen attack drones were heading toward the capital. The enemy's likely main target was the energy infrastructure of the city and the surrounding region.
Consequences
As of 09:00 a.m., damage has been confirmed in seven districts of the capital as a result of the strikes.
Specifically, in the Solomianskyi district, Russian forces struck a university dormitory on the 9th floor. In the Darnytskyi district, a 24-storey residential building was hit. At another address, houses in the private sector are on fire.
So far, eight people are known to have been injured, including a 16-year-old child.
At 08:30 a.m., it was reported that a fire broke out around the fourth floor of an 18-storey building in the Dniprovskyi district. Emergency services are heading to the sites. In the Desnianskyi district, medics were called, and medical teams were also dispatched to two addresses in the Solomianskyi district.
As of 08:15 a.m., fires were reported in the Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi, and Solomianskyi districts.
In particular, in the Darnytskyi district, there is a threat of the fire spreading to a nursing home. Preliminary reports indicate that several private houses are burning there. Rescuers evacuated 10 people from the nursing home. All emergency services are working at the scene.
There is also a fire in a nearby building close to the house hit by a drone, on the upper floors.
By 07:30 a.m., it was known that five people had been injured in the air attack: four were hospitalized, and one received outpatient treatment.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko also reported additional consequences of the shelling: a fire broke out in the Holosiivskyi district, preliminarily on the grounds of a service station; in the Obolonskyi district, debris fell in a dacha cooperative; and in the Desnianskyi district, debris fell in an open area. The mayor stressed that all emergency services are working on site.
Attacks on Kyiv and the Kyiv region overnight on December 27
According to RBC-Ukraine, Russian forces attacked Ukraine overnight on December 27 using various types of weapons. The Kyiv region was among the targets.
One person was injured - a resident of the Ivano-Frankivsk region who was driving a truck at the time of the attack and suffered shrapnel wounds to the back.
In Vyshhorod, windows were damaged in a high-rise residential building. In the Boryspil district, production facilities and two vehicles were damaged. In the Bucha district, a fire broke out at a construction site. In the Obukhiv district, a municipal facility belonging to one of the communities was damaged.
Russian forces targeted Kyiv overnight with various missiles and strike drones, causing loud explosions across the city.
According to RBC-Ukraine journalists, some districts of the capital experienced power outages.
Later in the morning, Russian forces launched additional strike drones toward the capital from multiple directions, with several waves of loud explosions reported in the city.
