Russia intensifies strikes on the energy sector

In recent weeks, Russian forces have stepped up attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. On the night of October 22, Russia carried out another massive combined strike. As a result, emergency power outage schedules were introduced across the country.

In particular, in the Kirovohrad region, Russian missiles and drones hit energy facilities, leaving 27 settlements without power. Due to enemy strikes on a DTEK energy facility in the Odesa region, more than 14,000 households were left without electricity.

In Zaporizhzhia, around two thousand consumers were left without power after a nighttime attack.

Notably, on Thursday, October 23, consumption restriction measures were in place in most Ukrainian regions from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Kyiv time. Industrial consumers were also subject to power limitation schedules to save energy and ensure an even distribution of electricity.
