Russia attacks central market in Ukrainian city of Kherson on Christmas, one killed

At noon on Christmas, Russian forces carried out a heavy attack on the central part of Kherson. The city market came under attack while people were there preparing for the holiday, Kherson Regional Military Administration head Oleksandr Prokudin reported.
"In the middle of the day, Russian forces cynically attacked the market where people were preparing for the holiday. As a result of numerous hits, trading stalls were destroyed," Prokudin said.
According to him, the attack led to the death of a market worker who was at his workplace.
As the prosecutor's office added, the attack occurred on December 25 at around 12:20. A 47-year-old man was killed as a result of the attack.
According to preliminary data, two more people were injured, and their conditions are being clarified.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into a war crime that resulted in the death of a person (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Prosecutors, together with police investigators, are also taking all measures to record and document crimes committed by Russian military personnel.
Russian attacks on Christmas
Russia rejected a Christmas ceasefire and carried out new air attacks on Ukrainian territory. Casualties have already been reported.
In particular, on the night of December 25, numerous explosions were heard in the Odesa region. The region's port infrastructure came under attack. As a result of the attack, one person was killed, and others were injured.
Earlier today, Russian forces carried out a drone attack on an evacuation mission in Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region. One person was killed, and two others were injured.
In Chernihiv, an enemy drone attacked a five-story residential building, causing apartments to catch fire.
According to local authorities, one person was killed. Five people were injured, including one child.
