Talks between Russia and Washington on "overcoming irritants” in the relations of both countries will definitely take place by the end of the fall, but there are no exact dates yet, SkyNews reports, citing Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

It concerns the third round of talks between the US and Russia, aimed at discussing ways to overcome “irritants” in the relations of the two countries.

“By the end of autumn, it will definitely take place. There are no dates now, and all this is in the process of discussion,” Ryabkov said in a comment to Russian media.

As for talks on ending the war in Ukraine, they were not raised. The last time the war was addressed was at the leaders’ summit in Alaska, which took place in August.

Previous rounds of US-Russia talks

On February 27 and April 10 in Istanbul, talks were held dedicated to normalizing the working conditions of the embassies of Russia and the US and discussing ways to overcome obstacles in the relations of the two countries.

The Russian delegation at the first and second rounds of consultations was headed by the current ambassador to Washington, Alexander Darchiev, and the American delegation by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Sonata Coulter.

The first meeting, held behind closed doors, lasted more than six hours, while the duration of the second round of talks amounted to five and a half hours.

US-Russia talks on Ukraine

White House chief Donald Trump threatens Russia with sanctions and tariffs if there is no peaceful settlement of the war in Ukraine.

However, Trump has not taken specific steps against Moscow after his last meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska.

In September 2025, Trump admitted that ending the war in Ukraine turned out to be significantly more difficult than he had expected.

Today, it became known that Trump is tired of constant talks with Putin about Ukraine, since they do not yield results, as Estonian President Alar Karis said.
