In the sky over Kazakhstan today, June 5, glowing objects were spotted. Russian Telegram channels spread rumors about the Oreshnik missile.

The ministry emphasized that no violations of Kazakhstan’s airspace were recorded. There are no threats to the population.

"This phenomenon resembles remnants of a spacecraft re-entering the atmosphere or a meteor shower. Usually, they all burn up in the dense layers of the atmosphere and do not reach the Earth’s surface," the Ministry of Defense explained.

They added that citizens of the country should remain calm and avoid spreading false information. Competent authorities are already investigating the phenomenon.

Oreshnik missile strike on Ukraine

In November 2024, Russian forces launched a medium-range ballistic missile strike on Dnipro. Russia claimed that the missile used in the attack was the Oreshnik.

It was later revealed that Oreshnik is likely a modification of the RS-26 Rubezh missile.

According to unconfirmed information, its range is estimated to be around 5,500 km. There is little publicly available data about the missile itself.
