What Rubio said
Today, April 18, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the US may withdraw from negotiations aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine.
He noted that the US will continue to mediate between Ukraine and Russia only if it becomes clear that an agreement between the two countries can be reached within a few weeks.
According to the head of the State Department, if that doesn’t happen, the US has "other priorities."
As political analyst Oleh Saakian explained in a comment to the YouTube channel of RBC-Ukraine, Rubio’s remarks served to "raise the stakes" toward Russia.
