Rubio concerned Ukraine may take harder line in peace talks - Reuters

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed concern that Ukraine could return to a hardline position in negotiations with Russia. In his opinion, this will make it difficult to make progress, Reuters reports.
Negotiations between representatives of the United States, Ukraine, and leading European countries, which were to take place on Wednesday in London, were postponed due to the refusal of most foreign ministers to support the proposed agreement to end Russia's war with Ukraine.
Rubio canceled his visit to London, effectively disrupting the meeting, which was to be attended by the foreign ministers of the UK, Ukraine, France, and Germany.
One of the European officials told Reuters that Rubio expressed concern that Ukraine could return to its previous hardline positions, which Washington believes would make any breakthrough in the talks impossible.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump warned that America could withdraw from the mediation process if there is no progress soon.
At the same time, he expressed hope that Kyiv and Moscow would reach an agreement this week. However, most diplomats are skeptical about such prospects, pointing to serious differences between the parties.
