The Constitutional Court of Romania will not make a decision today, November 29, regarding the acceptance of the results of the first round of the presidential election. The meeting has been postponed until next week, according to G4Media.ro.

The Romanian Constitutional Court has decided to postpone the session on the election results to Monday, December 2, at 5:00 p.m..

This decision was made after the court ordered a recount of all votes on November 28.

Romanian presidential elections

The first round of Romania's presidential election took place last week. According to the official results, Călin Georgescu and Elena Lasconi advanced to the second round.

Călin Georgescu, who received the most votes among the candidates, is a right-wing radical. He also repeats Russian narratives about the war in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Lasconi supports aid to Ukraine and opposes leaving Ukrainian territory under Russian control for the sake of peace.
