Rocket attack on Chernihiv, August 19 - Casualties rise to 140
The count of casualties resulting from the Russian attack on Chernihiv has risen once more. Currently, 140 people have sought medical assistance, according to a statement by the Head of Chernihiv Regional State Administration, Viacheslav Chaus.
Today, Russians killed 7 residents of Chernihiv. 140 have sought medical assistance, with 41 hospitalized (as of now)," Chaus reported.
Rocket strike on Chernihiv
Today, on August 19, during an air raid alarm in Chernihiv, powerful explosions were heard. Later, authorities confirmed that occupiers, most likely using ballistic missiles, struck the city center. Many people were in the area at the time of the attack.
As a result of the attack, the drama theater, square, courthouse, Chernihiv Regional Administration building, shops, and other public institutions were damaged.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, upon arriving at the scene, reported that law enforcement officers had surrounded the courtyard in the center of Chernihiv where the Russian missile had "landed." Currently, the city is documenting this act of military aggression by the Russian Federation.
