Rishi Sunak stated that he was shocked and saddened after Buckingham Palace revealed the King's diagnosis.
"Obviously, like everyone else, shocked and sad, and just all our thoughts are with him and his family,” Sunak said, adding that he hopes the King, “gets the treatment that he needs and makes a full recovery.”
The minister also mentioned that the recovery of Charles is what everyone hopes and prays for, and he, of course, regularly communicates with him and will continue to do so in the normal course.

"He’ll be in our thoughts and our prayers, many families around the country listening to this will have been touched by the same thing and they know what it means to everyone. So we’ll just be willing him on and hopefully we can get through this as quickly as possible," Sunak continues in his speech.
When asked about his conversations with Charles and whether their personal meetings will continue, he provided a comprehensive response.
"We don't try to get into the details but I'm in regular contact with him as I always am and that will absolutely continue," remarked the Prime Minister.
Sunak also reacted on Instagram Stories, sharing the palace's statement and adding his own comment.
"Wishing His Majesty a full and speedy recovery. I have no doubt he will be back to full strength in no time, and I know the whole country will be wishing him well," wrote the minister.

Earlier this week, Buckingham Palace announced that following a procedure for the treatment of prostate enlargement in January, the King has been diagnosed with a form of cancer.
"The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible," the statement reads.
His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope that it may help the public understand those who are dealing with cancer.
