The Rheinmetall Technology Group has received an order from a NATO international customer to produce mortar shells for the armed forces of an alliance partner. The value of the order, placed at the beginning of the third quarter of 2024, is estimated at an average of double-digit million euros, according to the press service of Rheinmetall.

Rheinmetall Expal Munitions S.A.U. will produce hundreds of thousands of mortar shells of various types, and deliveries will begin in the summer of 2025 and end in the summer of 2026.

The order also includes additional product launch services, emphasizing Rheinmetall's expertise in the production of modern mortar ammunition.

Rheinmetall, one of the world's leading manufacturers of large-caliber ammunition, continues to play a key role in modernizing and strengthening the armed forces of NATO countries.

In May, the German concern announced the launch of joint production of air defense munitions in Ukraine. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confirmed that one of the enterprises has already started working.

In addition, this summer, Ukrainian Ukroboronprom and Rheinmetall opened the first workshop for the repair and production of armored vehicles.

In addition, Spain has ordered Rheinmetall to supply modular fuel supply systems for 155-mm long-range artillery ammunition.
