Search and rescue operations in Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district have been completed following the Russian missile strike on June 23. As a result of the attack, 9 people were killed, Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko reports.

"Search and rescue operations in Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district have been completed. The Russian missile on June 23 took the lives of 9 people. My condolences to the families of the victims," Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs stated.

Emergency repair work is still ongoing at the site of the tragedy. Specialists are dismantling structures that pose a threat to the lives and safety of citizens.

Klymenko also emphasized that all instances of war crimes committed by Russia are being documented, and Ukraine is working to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.

Attack on Kyiv

During the night of June 23, Russian terrorists launched missile and drone strikes on Kyiv.

In particular, in the Shevchenkivskyi district, one of the missiles hit a five-story residential building. As a result of the strike, one of the building’s sections was completely destroyed.

According to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, the missile that struck the building pierced all the way down to the basement.

Immediately after the attack, Russians began spreading a fake narrative claiming that all strikes on Kyiv during the night of June 23 were aimed exclusively at military targets and that the civilian deaths were the result of Ukrainian air defense work. However, Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation refuted these claims.

During the night of Monday, June 23, Russia launched over 350 drones, ballistic, and cruise missiles at Ukraine.
