Putin weaker than ever: UK defense chief explains why

Russian President Vladimir Putin has been significantly weakened by the full-scale war against Ukraine. He has already lost around one million soldiers, said UK Defense Secretary John Healey during a press conference in Kyiv.
He noted that when North Korea provides Russia with troops and China supplies technology and key components, it shows that Putin is begging others for help.
Healey stressed that although Putin tries to project strength, he is actually weaker than ever.
The Defense Secretary explained that several facts point to this weakness:
-
He has lost more than a million troops;
-
He has lost over 10,000 tanks and armored vehicles;
-
His Black Sea Fleet was humiliated by a country without a navy;
-
He has failed to achieve any of his strategic goals.
Healey added that this was a war Putin thought he could win in three days, yet it is still ongoing three and a half years later due to the courage of Ukrainians.
Russia’s war plans
Earlier, Vadym Skibitskyi, a representative of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence, stated that Russia intends to end the war against Ukraine by 2026.
Otherwise, he noted, Moscow would never be able to catch up with the United States and China.
