The aggressor country has completely "forgotten" about the so-called energy ceasefire and is brazenly threatening Ukraine with strikes on civilian facilities, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said, according to RIA Novosti.
Putin threatens Ukraine
Russian president said that Ukraine continues to strike Russian oil refineries.
"Yesterday, they tried to strike some oil refineries. Now they have hit several locations. Nothing significant, but they keep going," he said.
Putin falsely claimed that Ukraine was the first to launch strikes against Russian online marketplaces.
"The same applies to online trading platforms. They made the first move. We began responding," he said, "forgetting" that Russia was the first to launch a war against Ukraine and the first to carry out aerial terror attacks against its civilian infrastructure.
Russian leader cynically threatened Ukraine, saying it should never have started striking Russia.
"They started it. They shouldn't have started. Before taking this step, they should have thought about the consequences," he said, promising a "response" to Ukrainian strikes.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha previously stated that Russia is showing complete disregard for calls for peace and openly rejecting US President Donald Trump's peace initiatives due to a lack of sufficient pressure.
Russia also stated that there would be no ceasefire to allow Ukraine to hold a presidential election.
