Putin сoncerned by rumors of Ukraine's ability to restore nuclear arsenal
Russian President Vladimir Putin is concerned about rumors of Ukraine allegedly planning to develop nuclear weapons. He threatened that Russia "will not allow" such a scenario, according to Meduza.
Putin mentioned that he considers the discussions about the potential creation of nuclear weapons in Ukraine to be a provocation.
He stated that creating nuclear weapons in the modern world is "not difficult," but for Ukraine, "it will not be that easy."
"Such a threat will provoke an appropriate reaction from Russia. I can say right away: Russia will not allow this under any circumstances," Putin stated.
He also claimed that Russia is supposedly capable of monitoring any Ukrainian moves toward creating nuclear weapons.
Rumors about nuclear weapons
Yesterday, on October 17, Bild reported, citing an unnamed Ukrainian official, that Ukraine plans to develop nuclear weapons if Russia initiates another invasion.
The official claimed that it would only take a few weeks to achieve this, as Ukraine possesses the necessary skills.
In response to this claim, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that nuclear weapons development is not being discussed.
