Putin ready to raise level of delegation for talks with Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin allegedly may raise the level of the Russian delegation for political negotiations with Ukraine, the head of the Kremlin stated at a press conference.
"If there is a need to do something in the direction of raising the level (of negotiations – ed.), bringing it to the political level, we are ready for this," the president said.
He clarified that for now he is not ready to specify or name the individuals who may be included in the Russian delegation.
"But we are ready to raise it to a truly high political level," Putin stated.
The head of the Kremlin also added that he is "satisfied" with the work of his aide Vladimir Medinsky as the head of the Russian delegation.
"What our negotiating group is currently doing under the leadership of my aide Vladimir Rostislavovich Medinsky seems to me a good example of restraint and a professional approach," he said.
Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia
The Ukrainian and Russian delegations have already held several rounds of negotiations in Istanbul.
At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin has been repeatedly criticized for sending a low-level delegation to Istanbul.
In particular, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that sending minor officials to negotiations with Ukraine is a mistake by Putin.
