Russian President Vladimir Putin demands that Russian forces continue launching massive strikes against targets in Ukraine.

During a meeting with military commanders, Putin said Russian military groupings must keep pursuing the objectives of what Moscow calls its special military operation.

"Of course, massive and group strikes against the enemy's military-industrial complex facilities and logistics centers must also continue," he said.

Meanwhile, Russian Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov promised that Russian troops would strike Ukraine's strategically important bridges.

Putin made the statement after Gerasimov reported to him on the "start" of massive strikes against Ukraine's energy facilities, which are evidently part of civilian infrastructure.

Massive attacks waged by Russia

Russian forces have continued launching attack drones at Ukraine over the past several days. They use both jet-powered and ordinary drones.

According to the Ministry of Energy, Russia has been striking energy facilities since the morning of October 16 in Kyiv and in the Kyiv, Volyn, Rivne, Kharkiv, and Odesa regions.

Following the attacks, Rivne experienced widespread power outages. Electricity was also cut off in parts of the Rivne region.
