Putin makes statement on Prigozhin's plane crash cause
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin claims that there was supposedly "no external influence" on the plane of Wagner PMC leader Yevgeny Prigozhin. However, remnants of hand grenades were found in the bodies of the victims of the plane crash, according to Putin's statement.
Putin states that the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, reportedly informed him that during the investigation, it was found that there was "no external influence" on the plane of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the Wagner PMC. Putin adds, "Traces of hand grenades were found in the bodies of those killed in the plane crash."
Prigozhin's death
The plane crash involving the Wagner Group occurred on August 23 near Vladimir Putin's residence in Valdai, resulting in the deaths of ten people. The Russian authorities claim that among the passengers was Yevgeny Prigozhin.
Prigozhin's press service announced on August 29 that the leader of the mercenaries had been secretly buried at the Prokhorov Cemetery in St. Petersburg.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that one of the versions regarding the plane crash of Yevgeny Prigozhin was "intentional sabotage."
In the White House, there is still no ruling out the possibility that Putin may be involved in Prigozhin's death, given the Kremlin's long history of assassinating opponents.
