Ukraine's Defense Intelligence (HUR) has revealed how much of Russia's state budget Vladimir Putin is spending on the war against Ukraine, according to Major General Vadym Skibitskyi, Deputy Chief of HUR.

Russia spends 47% of its state budget on the war against Ukraine

Nearly half of Russia's entire state budget is being allocated to the war against Ukraine.

"Today, 47% of the Russian Federation's state budget is spent on the war. That is an enormous figure," Skibitskyi said.

Russia has reached peak production of ballistic missiles

According to HUR's assessment, Russia is currently at the peak of its ballistic missile production.

"Overall, the Russians are capable of producing 60 to 65 ballistic missiles for the Iskander system every month. That is the maximum they are currently able to produce," the Major General said.

The goal behind Russia's massive strikes on Ukraine

Russia is launching combined missile and drone attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine to spread panic among the population. At the same time, it is striking critical infrastructure, including defense industry facilities that pose a threat to Russia, Skibitskyi noted.

According to him, Russia is particularly concerned about Ukraine's deep-strike and mid-strike capabilities, as well as its use of ballistic weapons.

"Everything is being done to prevent any further strengthening of our capabilities," he added.

Meanwhile, the Russian authorities are searching for new ways to finance the war. Gennady Zyuganov, the leader of Russia's Communist Party, has openly urged the government to tap into private wealth.

Russia's national debt is also rising rapidly as military spending on the war against Ukraine continues to grow. Putin has previously stated that Russia has one of the lowest levels of public debt among the G20 countries.
