Putin faces ticking clock, Stubb talks with Trump on Ukraine's peace moves

Finnish President Alexander Stubb discussed Russia’s war against Ukraine with US President Donald Trump, according to his Twitter.
According to Stubb, they talked about ending the hostilities, as the deadline Trump set for Russia to stop the war is approaching.
“Finland supports all efforts towards an immediate ceasefire. Longterm negotiations must lead to a lasting and just peace,” Stubb wrote.
Trump’s deadline
Earlier, US President Donald Trump promised to impose 100% secondary tariffs on Russia if Moscow did not agree to peace with Ukraine within 50 days. Last week, the American leader toughened his stance - the deadline was significantly shortened.
Now, secondary tariffs and sanctions threaten Russia if Moscow does not seek peace by August 8. It’s worth noting that Trump has not yet specified which exact restrictions, besides the 100% secondary tariffs, he plans to impose on Russia.
Just recently, Trump also announced that he will significantly raise tariffs against India.
