The Russian President Vladimir Putin will send at least 15 people to the negotiations with Ukraine in Geneva. One of them is Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, TASS reports.

"At least 15 people will be part of the delegation, including Galuzin," said an unnamed source from the Russian propaganda outlet.

According to a TASS source, the Russian negotiation team will arrive in Geneva on February 17.

What is known about Galuzin

Mikhail Galuzin is a Putin "hawk" (a supporter of a hardline and aggressive foreign policy).

He is known for backing the Kremlin’s tough stance on Ukraine. In his official statements, the official has repeatedly promoted Moscow’s position regarding the "new territorial realities," emphasizing that any settlement is possible only if Ukraine recognizes the occupied territories.

Galuzin has also called Western aid to Kyiv a "factor prolonging the conflict."

It appears that Putin is once again relying on "proven" representatives of the negotiation line. During the Istanbul talks in May 2025, Galuzin, together with Kremlin aide Vladimir Medinsky, headed the Russian delegation.

At that time, Galuzin served as the main point of contact for the Russian Foreign Ministry, announcing demands regarding Ukraine’s neutrality and the cessation of Western weapons supplies.

Earlier, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that the Russian delegation in negotiations with Ukraine would be led by Medinsky, who is known for distorting historical facts.
