Prospects of Zelenskyy-Xi Jinping meeting: Ongoing preparations
This year, Ukraine and China are dynamically developing dialogue between each other. Efforts are being made towards a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the leader of the People's Republic of China (PRC), Xi Jinping; however, it is still too early to talk about it, according to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tykhyi, during a briefing in response to a question from an RBC-Ukraine.
"Ukrainian-Chinese dialogue is developing very dynamically, especially this year. And we are confident that it will continue to develop at various levels, with more meetings and discussions," Tykhyi said.
The spokesperson added that work on a meeting between Zelenskyy and Xi Jinping is ongoing. At the same time, the recent visit of Dmytro Kuleba to China has brought the negotiations between the countries' leaders closer.
"But when such a meeting will take place and when this agreement will be reached, it is still too early to say," Tykhyi added.
Kuleba's visit to China
On July 23, Kuleba arrived in China at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi. During the negotiations, the parties discussed the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine, as well as bilateral relations between Kyiv and Beijing.
As Zelenskyy noted, Ukraine received a signal from China regarding support for territorial integrity and sovereignty.
