Zelenskyy awaits report from Ukrainian Foreign Minister after visit to China
For the first time in many years, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba traveled to Beijing to meet with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi. After the talks, Kyiv received a clear signal that China supports Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, who is on a visit to China these days, held talks with his counterpart and reported to me on the results of the meeting. This is the first visit of a Ukrainian official at this level in many years. And this is good. There is a clear signal that China supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said.
According to the President, it was also confirmed what Chinese leader Xi Jinping had previously told him - that China would not supply weapons to Russia.
“I expect a detailed report from the Minister upon returning to Ukraine,” the head of state emphasized.
Wang Yi recently invited Kuleba to meet in China. The Foreign Minister accepted the invitation and arrived in Beijing yesterday, July 23.
During the meeting, the two parties were to discuss Russia's war against Ukraine and bilateral relations between the two countries.
