Presidential Office Head reveals when peace talks with Russia could begin
Peace negotiations with Russia will only be possible when Moscow runs out of resources to continue the war. Until then, Ukraine must remain strong, stated the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak.
“I emphasize once again that only the strong receive help, so we must remain strong. Real negotiations for a lasting peace will begin only when the enemy no longer has the resources to continue the war. Therefore, an enormous amount of work lies ahead,” Yermak said.
The Head of the Presidential Office reminded that on October 24, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the victory plan, which outlined Ukraine's position and defined practical mechanisms for ending the war and achieving a just peace.
He noted that Ukrainian citizens convey the country's vision for ending the war and achieving a just peace to the international community.
According to Yermak, numerous foreign visits of Ukrainian regional delegations also contribute to this effort. During these visits, partners at the local level get acquainted with the victory plan.
“The situation remains difficult... Our enemy does not want to end the war; it wants our capitulation — both ours and that of our allies. If Russia is not forced to a just peace, there will be no peace. There will only be a pause, and Moscow will use that pause to rebuild its forces and resume its offensive,” Yermak concluded.
Ukraine's victory plan
Ukraine's preparation of a peace plan became known after the first peace summit. As previously reported by RBC-Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's victory plan is aimed at forcing Russia to negotiate on Kyiv's terms.
Initially, the text of Zelenskyy’s plan was unknown. The President described it as clear and honest. The document was first presented to US President Joe Biden, as the plan heavily relies on US support. Later, other partners were also introduced to it.
On October 16, Zelenskyy addressed the Parliament and officially presented the victory plan. It was revealed that the document consists of five points and three classified annexes. The secret part was not disclosed publicly. The content of the secret section is known to the closest partners and cannot be published.
