Ukrainian military personnel are still carrying out tasks on the territory of Russia’s Kursk region, according to a statement by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

He emphasized that the Defense Forces are disrupting enemy plans, firmly holding their positions, and conducting active operations when conditions are favorable.

"Despite constant enemy pressure, Ukrainian soldiers continue to carry out tasks on the territory of Russia — our presence in the Kursk region is being maintained," the general said.

Syrskyi noted that the key to success lies in active defense and initiative on the battlefield. He explained that this approach allows Ukrainian forces to exhaust the enemy, inflict maximum losses, and restore positions.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stressed that the enemy army is losing at least one thousand soldiers killed and wounded every day.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that in April, the number of long-range strikes at distances over 20 kilometers doubled compared to March and quadrupled compared to February.

It was also recently reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to take control of a Russian position for the first time using drones and unmanned ground systems without infantry involvement.

In addition, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that in March, robotic systems completed 50% more tasks than in February.

Syrskyi also recently stated that the main task of the Ukrainian army is to maximize the preservation of soldiers’ lives. According to him, this is being achieved through the use of modern technologies and effective training.
