Preparing to retreat? Russians mining critical infrastructure in Kherson region
Russian occupiers are mining critical infrastructure objects in the temporarily occupied areas of the Kherson region. This may indicate the enemy's plans to destroy them in a future retreat, informs the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
According to intelligence data, the invaders are placing explosives near stationary gas regulating hubs, electrical substations, and other critical infrastructure objects in the region.
"The actions of the occupiers indicate their likely intention to destroy critical infrastructure elements when they have to retreat," the intelligence stated.
It is worth noting that a year ago, Russian forces, during their retreat from Kherson, attempted to maximize damage to power lines, other elements of transportation, and critical infrastructure in the region.
Situation on the left bank of the Kherson region
Earlier, ISW analysts reported that Ukrainian forces had made some progress and pushed the occupiers to the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region.
It was mentioned that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had landed on the left bank of the Kherson region. In commenting on the situation on the left bank, Natalia Humeniuk, the Head of the United Coordinating Press Center of Security and Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, stated that there were positive results in counter-battery warfare and "other methods."
The military expert Vladyslav Seleznov, in a conversation with RBC-Ukraine, identified three bridgeheads for the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the left bank of the Kherson region.
