Kharkiv region endured another difficult night as Russia launched a massive strike on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, leaving one person dead and causing widespread outages, according to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
As a result of the attacks, parts of the region were left without electricity and water. A worker at one of the energy facilities was killed while on duty.
According to local authorities, emergency power outage schedules have been introduced in the region to stabilize the national energy grid, as facilities across the country sustained damage.
"Unfortunately, an employee of one of the energy companies was killed while at work. Due to this enemy attack, part of the region is temporarily without electricity, and there are disruptions in water supply," the administration said.
"Points of Invincibility" have been opened across the region, where residents can warm up, charge their phones, use stable communications, and receive essential assistance.
Specialists are already working at the strike sites, inspecting damaged facilities and assessing destruction to start repair work as soon as possible.
Attack on Ukraine
During the night of November 8, 2025, Russia carried out another large-scale combined attack on Ukraine, using both missiles and attack drones primarily targeting energy infrastructure.
The massive bombardment caused emergency blackouts across several regions and disrupted the operation of critical infrastructure. One of the hardest-hit cities was Kremenchuk, which was left without electricity. Due to damage to the power grid, Ukrzaliznytsia reported train delays.
According to the military, throughout the night Russia launched 503 aerial weapons against Ukraine, including:
-
458 Shahed and Geran-type attack drones;
-
25 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles;
-
10 Iskander-K cruise missiles;
-
7 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles;
-
3 Kalibr cruise missiles.
As of 10 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses had shot down or neutralized 415 aerial targets.
The Russian army attacked throughout the night using both drones and missiles. All details of the combined strike are available in the RBC-Ukraine report.
