Possible US intervention in Iran conflict: Trump sets two-week deadline for decision

US President Donald Trump will decide on possible direct US involvement in the war with Iran within the next two weeks, according to a briefing by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
She reminded that many rumors have appeared in the media about the possible decision of the American leader to take direct part in the Israel-Iran conflict. In light of these events, she quoted Trump himself:
"Based on the fact that there's a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks."
Leavitt emphasized once again that this is a direct quote from the US president.
Trump’s statements
Previously, US President Donald Trump said he was considering direct US involvement in the Israel-Iran conflict, specifically mentioning possible strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Later, the American leader emphasized that he "might enter the war, but might not." According to him, no one knows what he plans to do.
Against this backdrop, Iran has already threatened to attack US military bases in the Middle East if the US intervenes in the war.
The US involvement is crucial to destroying the nuclear facility in Fordow.
As a diplomat and former Israeli ambassador to Russia, Arkady Mil-Man noted in a comment to RBC-Ukraine’s YouTube channel, only the US possesses bombs capable of penetrating this facility, which is located deep underground in the mountains.
