Polish security services accuse Ukrainian and Belarusian of flying drone over government

The operators of the drone that was spotted the day before over the government building in Warsaw were allegedly a Ukrainian man and a Belarusian woman, according to information from Polish security services published by tvn24.
As stated by the spokesperson for Jacek Dobrzynski, the coordinator of Poland's special services, officers of the State Protection Service "acted very vigilantly and quickly," identifying the drone operators.
"It was a young Belarusian woman and her 20-year-old colleague from Ukraine. Officers of the State Protection Service directly detained these individuals. The police were notified, who also arrived at the scene and took these individuals into custody," Dobrzynski said.
It is also known that the detainees are giving testimony to law enforcement, who are verifying the purpose of launching the drone in a restricted zone.
At the same time, Dobrzynski denied information that this was an espionage operation. He suggested that perhaps the young man and woman were unaware that launching a drone in this area was prohibited.
"These are young people, perhaps it was the result of carelessness, ignorance, perhaps that they wanted to film something here, over Lazienki. Moreover, they were in Lazienki Park and launched the drone from there," the spokesperson said.
Polish prosecutors also reported that in this case, the evidence and circumstances of the incident currently indicate "a violation of aviation law regulations, not the commission of espionage."
According to media reports, the detainees are a 21-year-old Ukrainian citizen and a 17-year-old Belarusian woman. It was found that both of them are legally present in Poland: the Belarusian woman for several days, and the Ukrainian for 8 years.
On Monday evening, September 15, a drone was flying over government buildings in Poland, and it was destroyed.
The raid of Russian drones on Poland that took place on September 10. At that time, more than 20 drones entered the country's airspace, four of which were shot down by aviation.
Poland is outraged by such actions of the Kremlin. It has already taken some measures – President Karol Nawrocki signed approval for the deployment of NATO troops as part of Operation Eastern Sentry.
