Calls by Polish opposition figures to block aid to Ukraine are a deadly policy, says Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
Tusk responds to remarks made by Przemysław Czarnek, the prime ministerial candidate from the key opposition party, Law and Justice.
Czarnek recently began demanding that Warsaw force the EU to halt funding for weapons for Ukraine and its reconstruction.
According to the opposition figure, this is the only way to secure concessions from Kyiv on contentious historical issues.
However, Tusk immediately came to Ukraine’s defense and publicly rebuked Czarnek.
"This is a deadly policy—a competition in anti-Ukrainian sentiment. I am critical of the Law and Justice (PiS) party and former President Andrzej Duda, but the only decision I fully endorse is the immediate provision of aid to Ukraine after the war began," Tusk emphasizes.
According to the Polish Prime Minister, politicians who try to ride the wave of shifting public sentiment, particularly anti-Ukrainian sentiment, are, in his view, enemies of society.
In addition, Russia is planning a new provocation against Poland.
Warsaw has also put an end to the issue of peacekeepers in Ukraine.
