A potential peacekeeping mission in Ukraine could receive support from Poland, though without the participation of Polish troops. Warsaw has already outlined the format it considers acceptable, according to a statement by Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski ahead of a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris.

"We are ready to provide a logistical platform for a possible peacekeeping operation in Ukraine, but the participation of the Polish army in such an operation would be inadvisable," Sikorski said.

At the same time, Poland's top diplomat stressed that Warsaw considers US involvement in supporting Ukraine and in a future security guarantees framework to be "desirable and very important."

According to him, Ukraine has the right to determine its own future, including the format of international support and security guarantees after the war ends.

Sikorski also commented on historical disputes between Poland and Ukraine. In his view, they "primarily hinder Ukraine," and genuine reconciliation is possible only on the basis of truth and an honest assessment of the past.

Further support for Ukraine and possible practical steps regarding security guarantees are expected to be discussed during the Coalition of the Willing meeting in Paris.

As previously reported, Poland has expressed its readiness to help Ukraine modernize its MiG-29 fighter jets.

At the same time, Warsaw stressed that the work should be financed either by Ukraine or by partner countries. The Polish side also said it is prepared to continue negotiations, provided the principle of reciprocity is respected.
