Polish farmers started new protests at Ukraine border
On November 23, Polish farmers blocked the Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint on the border with Ukraine.
The protesters restricted the movement of trucks. At the same time, cars and buses were allowed to pass without restrictions.
The farmers said they were protesting for two reasons. Interestingly, none of them are related to Ukraine.
The first reason for the farmers' strike is the failure to fulfill tax requirements, and the other is the signing of a free trade agreement by the European Union with South American countries (Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay).
In a commentary to RBC-Ukraine, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy said that Polish farmers have no complaints about Ukrainian goods, and their protest is a way of putting pressure on the government.
