Poland warns: Getting used to Ukraine’s war can be Russia’s biggest victory

Polish Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz urged people not to get used to the war against Ukraine launched by Russia, Polsat News reports.
During commemorative events marking the beginning of World War II, Kosiniak-Kamysz said that "despite the fatigue, hardship, and emotions, we cannot ignore the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.”
“People are dying there, children. Bombs are falling on nurseries, kindergartens, and hospitals,” the Polish Minister of National Defense said.
Kosiniak-Kamysz also stressed that becoming accustomed to the war is “the worst and greatest victory of the empire of evil looking back from the East.”
The Polish Minister of National Defense emphasized that supporting Ukraine is important not only for civilizational, humanitarian, and Christian reasons, but also because Poland’s security is at stake.
“We must not forget that every day the Russian Federation's army is used up by the fighting Ukrainian army is a day when we are given strength and power to better prepare. This is the protection of the Polish soldier,” Kosiniak-Kamysz added, recalling Poland’s historical sacrifices for other nations and for its own freedom.
The Minister then called for maintaining sensitivity and not letting fatigue or despair blur the meaning of existence.
“This is an obligation to Westerplatte and an obligation to the people of Westerplatte: the soldiers of the Polish Army,” Kosiniak-Kamysz stated.
Statements on ending war in Ukraine
Meanwhile, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz noted that Russia’s war against Ukraine may last many more months.
The United States, however, has more optimistic forecasts regarding the end of the conflict.
US Vice President JD Vance said the war in Ukraine could end within three to six months, thanks to active diplomacy and international efforts.
US President’s Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, believes Washington is striving to resolve Russia’s war against Ukraine by the end of the year and also hopes for peace in the Middle East within the same timeframe.
