Tusk says concessions to Putin will not guarantee Europe's security

The past weeks of the war in Ukraine have shown that no concessions or attempts to negotiate with Russian leader Vladimir Putin can guarantee security, reports RMF24, citing Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
Tusk emphasized that recent developments in Ukraine clearly demonstrate that no concessions to Putin will secure safety for Europe. He noted that any more compromises with the Russian leader would not succeed and would fail to provide the protection Europe needs.
Polish Prime Minister stressed that Poland and the European Union are taking a firm and proactive stance. The country is preparing thoroughly to defend its borders, while the EU and its President are working to convince European leaders of the importance of safeguarding and investing in these strategic frontiers.
On August 31, Tusk and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen visited the Poland-Belarus border. Their visit followed the appearance of armed Belarusian troops in the area, highlighting ongoing tensions. The meeting focused on strategies to strengthen the EU's eastern border.
