Polish Foreign Minister urges thinking about no-fly zone over Ukraine

Poland and other Western countries should consider the idea of establishing a no-fly zone over Ukraine, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
When asked about the proposal to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine, Sikorski recalled that the idea was discussed a year ago during Joe Biden’s presidency. He noted that NATO and EU countries are technically capable of implementing such an initiative, but Poland cannot make such decisions alone.
"Protecting our population, for example, from falling debris, would certainly be higher if we could strike drones and other aircraft outside our territory. If Ukraine asked us to take them down over its own territory, it would be advantageous for us. If you ask me personally, it’s something we should think about," Sikorski emphasized.
Drone attack on Poland
On the night of September 10, Poland was attacked by Russian drones.
Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digitalization, Krzysztof Gawkowski, said the attack was deliberate.
Russia, in turn, claimed it did not intend to hit targets on Polish territory.
