Poland to deport Ukrainian who flew drone over government buildings

Polish authorities are deporting a Ukrainian citizen for flying a drone over government buildings, Polsat News reported.
According to the outlet, the 21-year-old Ukrainian who flew a drone over the Belweder Palace and government buildings was charged with violating airspace regulations, for which he faced up to five years in prison. He voluntarily agreed to punishment and paid a fine of 4,000 zlotys.
Later, the man was handed over to Polish border guards along with a request for deportation.
A 17-year-old Belarusian citizen who was with the Ukrainian was questioned as a witness and released.
Polsat News reminds that Polish special services did not find evidence of espionage or possible cooperation of the Ukrainians with foreign intelligence services.
"We refute the rumors that this was some large-scale espionage operation. At this stage, no one can say that definitively. These are young people. Perhaps it was a sign of carelessness, perhaps ignorance, perhaps they just wanted to film something," said Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesman for the coordinator of special services.
Drone flight over Polish government buildings
On Monday, September 15, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that a drone flew over government buildings. It was neutralized.
The head of the Polish government specified that law enforcement detained two Belarusian citizens. Later, it turned out that the drone was operated by a Ukrainian.
