After the start of a debate in the EU about who exactly would represent the European Union in potential negotiations with Moscow, Poland stated its own condition, according to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Twitter (X).
Tusk reacted to the debate within the EU over who would represent the European Union in potential negotiations with Russia.
According to him, Warsaw demands direct participation in the decision-making process for any agreements.
"Otherwise, we will not comply with any of the agreements," the Polish prime minister wrote.
Last week, Tusk said that any negotiations on ending the war must take place with Poland’s mandatory participation.
Warsaw expressed dissatisfaction with the E3 negotiating format (the United Kingdom, Germany, France), which excludes other allies. Tusk previously warned that Poland "will not recognize agreements in which it does not take part."
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni supported Warsaw’s position and called for appointing a single representative for all of Europe in negotiations with Russia.
