In Poland, a damaged section of railway tracks was discovered on a crucial route leading to the Polish-Ukrainian border and further into Ukraine, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk reported.
"I am in constant contact with the Minister of Internal Affairs regarding the destruction of a section of the railway track on the Dęblin–Warsaw route. We may be dealing with an act of sabotage. No one was injured. The relevant services are conducting an investigation," Tusk wrote.
According to Polish media, the incident occurred on the morning of November 16. The train driver reported by phone about damage to the railway infrastructure in the area of Życzyn, Garwolin County, Masovian Voivodeship, near the PKP Mika station.
It concerns a section of a key railway line connecting Warsaw with the Dorohusk border crossing. This route is used not only by Masovian Railways trains but also by freight trains heading to Lublin, Chełm, and further into Ukraine.
Earlier, Poland connected the Hrebenne–Rava-Ruska border crossing point to the European Entry/Exit System (EES).
According to border guards, all crossing points between Poland and Ukraine within the Lviv region are now operating within this system.
