Ukraine signals new momentum in peace efforts as diplomatic activity intensifies

Ukraine and its allies, including the United States, will soon give new momentum to peace efforts aimed at ending Russia's war, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said while speaking to journalists.
According to the minister, diplomacy should play an increasingly active role in peace efforts and in ending Russian aggression.
Sybiha also stressed that achieving this without the involvement of the American side is unrealistic, given the geopolitical realities.
Against this backdrop, the foreign minister confirmed that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently spoke with the American negotiating team.
Regular contact is being maintained with them, and this dialogue has not been interrupted.
"I recommend that you follow the news now. There have been no holidays or pauses in Ukraine — we are fighting for our land, for a just peace. And now, I believe, we will see new momentum in peace efforts with the return of an active political and diplomatic phase in many capitals around the world. So follow the news," Sybiha said.
The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin unexpectedly said there was a chance for a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.
US President Donald Trump said that he would not meet with the Kremlin leader until he agrees to a peace deal with Kyiv.
On September 3, Zelenskyy warned of a new escalation in the war by Russia.
