Poland reports how much aid Ukraine received through logistics hub in Jasionka
Through a major logistics hub near the Polish airport in Jasionka, located in the Rzeszów district of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship, near Rzeszów, 5,000 shipments have already been made to Ukraine with assistance from 45 countries. The facility is under military guard, states Poland's Minister of Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
During a meeting with military personnel at the POLLOG HUB in Jasionka, the Polish official referred to them as the heroes of modern-day of the country.
In his pre-Christmas speech, Kosiniak-Kamysz noted that this Polish hub has been providing support and assistance to Ukraine, which is at war, for many months.
According to the head of Poland's Ministry of Defense, the logistics facility is a special place through which extremely important aid is delivered to Ukraine.
"Without POLLOG HUB, without your participation, it would have been impossible to deliver aid coming from 45 countries, impossible to carry out 5,000 transports with 40,000 vehicles and wagons that sent and delivered humanitarian and material assistance, as well as the much-needed military aid," he said in a statement to the military.
Kosiniak-Kamysz noted that ensuring the security of the hub had been difficult, but extremely necessary.
He also pointed out that many Polish soldiers would not be spending Christmas and Christmas Eve with their families at home, as they would be on duty in Poland, on the Polish-Belarusian border, where they will defend our security, in units stationed across the country, as well as at the hub in Jasionka.
Protection of the Polish logistics hub for aid to Ukraine
On December 20, the Polish General Staff reported that NASAMS air defense systems and F-35 fighter jets had been deployed in Rzeszów to protect the logistics hub assisting Ukraine.
It had previously been announced that NATO allies decided to send more air defense resources to Poland to protect the logistics hub in Rzeszów, through which military aid is being delivered to Ukraine.
Additionally, it was reported that in early December, Norway promised to provide Poland with F-35 fighter jets and NASAMS anti-aircraft systems to safeguard the logistics center.
Furthermore, at the end of November, Germany announced its readiness to deploy Patriot air defense systems to Poland to protect the key logistics hub facilitating material deliveries to Ukraine. Berlin plans to carry out this deployment in early 2025.
