Poland plans to test its own weapons in real combat conditions on the Ukrainian front, said Polish Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk. Warsaw is also considering joint drone production with Ukraine on Polish territory, Defence24 reports.
Front as testing ground
According to Cezary Tomczyk, Ukraine is a unique testing ground due to direct contact with the enemy army. The scheme envisions two stages: first, Polish equipment will undergo testing at national training grounds, and then in real combat conditions.
"This is a real picture of what works and what does not," noted the deputy minister.
Technology exchange and joint production
The second area of cooperation is to be a technology exchange. Tomczyk cited WB Electronics as an example, which already cooperates with Ukraine, and stressed the need to expand such interaction.
Joint production of drones on Polish territory was confirmed by Tomczyk as a real option — provided that a model is developed that will meet the interests of both countries.
Context
The event in Rzeszów is part of the preparation for the June conference on Ukraine recovery in Gdańsk. Polish Ministry of Defense and representatives of the defense industry are looking for joint projects taking into account the current frontline situation. Among the participants of the Expo exhibition are more than 120 companies from several dozen countries.
Poland decided to create its own large-scale drone fleet, adopting the successful experience of Ukraine demonstrated in real combat conditions. This was stated by Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
The Pentagon has also turned to Ukrainian developments. The US military held secret exercises in Florida, where they reproduced tactics of operation Spiderweb — a massive drone attack carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine in June 2025 against four military airfields deep in Russia. At that time, the enemy lost about 40 strategic aviation aircraft.
In addition, the Ukrainian military is already directly involved in NATO exercises, where they act as mock adversary during anti-drone training.
