The decision to send Polish troops to Ukraine will be made exclusively in Warsaw, but such a step is not currently planned, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing Poland`s Prime Minister, Donald Tusk.

"I also want to end speculation about the potential presence of troops from any country in Ukraine after a ceasefire or peace is reached. The decision regarding Poland's actions will be made in Warsaw and only in Warsaw. We do not plan such actions at the moment," Tusk said.

Issue of sending troops to Ukraine

In late February, Macron stated that he did not rule out the possibility of European countries sending troops to Ukraine. However, he warned that Kyiv's allies did not have a consensus on this issue at the moment. Eventually, some allies, including Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, agreed to consider such an option. It was also clarified that this did not involve the direct deployment of troops for participation in combat operations.

As Reuters reported, Ukraine will be the main topic of discussion during Macron's visit to Poland today. Among other things, the question of deploying European troops to the country in the event of a ceasefire and the conclusion of a peace agreement between Kyiv and Moscow will be talked about.

Meanwhile, Olha Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, stated that Ukraine is ready to discuss deploying foreign military personnel on its territory.
