Poland launches fighter jets during massive attack on Ukraine

Poland and allied air forces scrambled aircraft on the night of August 30 in response to a missile-drone attack on Ukraine, according to the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command.
"In connection with yet another attack by Russia, which is striking targets on Ukrainian territory, operations of Polish and allied air forces have begun in our airspace," the statement said.
It is noted that the Operational Commander of the Polish Armed Forces scrambled standby fighter pairs, while ground-based air defense and radar recognition systems were brought to the highest state of readiness.
The measures taken aim to ensure security in areas bordering regions under threat.
"The Operational Command of the Armed Forces is monitoring the current situation, and subordinate forces and assets remain at full readiness for immediate response," the Polish Armed Forces added.

Attack on Ukraine on August 30
On the night of August 30, Russian forces carried out a combined airstrike on Ukraine.
Starting the evening of August 29, the Russian army launched Shahed attack drones toward the country.
Later, Kalibr cruise missiles were launched from the Novorossiysk area.
Subsequently, explosions were heard in Dnipro.
The enemy also attacked Zaporizhzhia with drones and missiles. Fires broke out in the city’s private sector, and there are casualties.
