On the night of August 30, Russia carried out a combined attack on Ukraine. Explosions were heard in Lutsk, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, and many other cities, and the first consequences are already being reported.

RBC-Ukraine has compiled everything known so far.

Key points:

  • What and when the enemy attacked Ukraine, and where explosions were reported
  • First consequences of the attack - power outages have occurred

Massive drone attack supplemented by missiles

Starting in the evening of August 29, the Russians launched attack drones across Ukraine. The first detections were recorded at 17:48 Kyiv time in the Sumy region. The alarm signals then began to spread, and by night, alerts were declared across almost the entire country.

Overall, during this time, explosions were heard in at least Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Lutsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, and even in the Lviv region.

At around 4 a.m. Kyiv time, the Ukrainian Air Forces reported that the enemy had launched Kalibr cruise missiles at Ukraine. It later became known that they were heading toward Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia, after which explosions were heard.

First consequences of the attack - power outages

So far, initial data is available only for the last two cities. The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration confirmed a massive Russian attack on the regional center and the city of Pavlohrad.

“The region is under a massive attack. Explosions are heard. There have been hits in Dnipro and Pavlohrad. All information is being clarified. The threat remains. Stay in a safe place until the all-clear,” the message said at 04:09.

Several Telegram channels also reported that parts of Dnipro experienced power outages after the enemy attack. However, official confirmation has not yet been provided.

At the same time, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, confirmed power outages in the city of Zaporizhzhia.

“In Zaporizhzhia, some streets lost power due to enemy strikes. Energy workers will begin restoring services as soon as the security situation allows,” he wrote at 03:58.

Later, Fedorov added that as a result of the massive Russian attack, a private house in Zaporizhzhia was destroyed. Information regarding casualties is currently being clarified.

Massive Russian attacks

Russia periodically carries out combined attacks on Ukraine. On such nights, the enemy uses drones, missiles, and aerial bombs for strikes.

Typically, these attacks occurred once every few weeks. However, the last massive attack was just two days ago, on the night of August 28.

On that day, Kyiv was the main target. It was one of the largest Russian bombardments of the capital.

As a result of the attack, there was significant damage in the city, numerous fires, 25 people were killed, and dozens more were injured.
