Poland developing its own Lanca cruise missile: Key specs revealed

Polish drone manufacturer WB GROUP will present its Lanca cruise missile at the MSPO 2025 exhibition, according to Militarnyi.
The new cruise rocket is likely designed for launching containers from both land and sea.
It is equipped with folding wings and a solid-fuel booster. This is necessary to gain initial altitude and speed before the main turbojet engine is launched.
Photos of the missile were posted on social media by military enthusiast @ArkadiuszMolis1 a day before the event.
The missile has a distinctive cutout in the front of the nose, presumably for the use of a homing head or optical navigation system to bypass terrain relief.
The developers have not yet announced the technical characteristics.
In August, Ukraine officially unveiled the long-range modification of the R-360 Neptune cruise missile, the Long Neptune. It is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 1,000 kilometers. Its characteristic X-shaped folding wings can recognize the Long Neptune.
Tests of the Ukrainian Flamingo cruise missile were also shown. Unlike drones, which carry relatively small payloads, the Flamingo is capable of delivering much more powerful strikes. If the missile can penetrate deep into Russia and hit targets in the rear, it will pose a deadly threat.
