Poland considers possibility of transferring additional MiG-29s to Ukraine
Poland is considering the possibility of providing additional aircraft to Ukraine. These could include MiG-29s, according to a statement from Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski at a press conference at the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"We are considering the possibility of providing additional batches of equipment, including possibly MiG-29 aircraft, which are currently needed to protect Polish airspace," Sikorski said.
At the same time, he noted that Poland could transfer these aircraft if its partners help them.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine asked security expert Dariusz Materniak what kind of assistance Poland needs from its allies to transfer MiGs to Ukraine.
It is worth noting that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on August 27 that Ukraine needs Polish MiG-29s. Later, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak stated that Warsaw would be able to transfer MiG-29s only after receiving new fighters that were ordered from allies.
