Ukraine urgently needs Polish MiGs - Zelenskyy
Ukraine expects Poland to hand over its MiG fighter jets. There is no decision on such deliveries yet, stated President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a press conference.
He mentioned that Poland's focus on Ukraine's defense has "slightly decreased."
"I’m raising one issue - we really need your MiGs; we know about these aircraft. So far, there has been no positive decision," the President said.
Also, according to Zelenskyy, a decision is needed to destroy Russian missiles and drones flying toward Poland. This requires support from other countries.
"Poland cannot be alone with this decision. The US needs to support this decision, then it will be easier for us," the head of state explained.
What preceded it
Poland has been one of Ukraine's allies since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, providing substantial military aid.
On August 26, Polish President Andrzej Duda noted that the total value of military assistance from his country to Ukraine is about $3 billion.
Among the aid provided are 10 MiG-29 fighter jets, as well as helicopters.
